I've been writing software professionally since 2003, back when PHP 4 was still a thing. Since then I've built and run production systems at enterprise scale, for ASDA, Tesco, Loblaws, Pizza Express and Harvester, and shipped my own products along the way. Voidmode is where all of that comes together.
One engineer, twenty-odd years of shipping software.
I'm André, the engineer behind Voidmode. This is the short version of how I got here, what got built along the way and what I tend to reach for.
Twenty-odd years, roughly in order.
How the work gets done.
One person accountable.
Every project here had me on it from the first conversation to production, designing the system, writing the code and making the calls.
Small on purpose.
A handful of projects at a time. It's the only way I've found to keep the quality high and stay close to the code.
Senior help, when it helps.
Bigger builds got more hands, senior engineers from my network who I've worked with for years and trust to ship.

“I started Voidmode Studios because I was tired of working in big teams where most time was spent in meetings instead of building. I wanted to work directly with clients and focus on shipping quality software. That's what I do.”
Strictly a portfolio, for now.
I'm not taking on client work right now, so this site is just here to show what's been built. The full portfolio has games you can play, products you can use and the stories behind the bigger systems.
